DisneyBound Week, Day 1

Have you heard of Disneybounding? It's not cosplay and dressing up as Disney characters, but rather wearing Disney inspired outfits. Apparently, it stemmed from a rule at the Disney parks that no one over the age of 12 can wear Disney costumes since kids might get confused between other park goers and actual Disney employees. 

Today's outfit is inspired by Genie from "Aladdin," and is dedicated to my brother Alex. This was his favorite Disney movie growing up. I don't even know how many times he watched it. He seriously went through a phase where he would watch it just about every day. I don't know how he didn't wear out our copy of the VHS tape. At one point, I practically had the dialogue memorized line by line just because he would watch this movie so much. In the movie, Genie calls Aladdin by the nickname "Al." I can't be totally sure, but I'm pretty positive this is about the time Alex's friends started calling him "Al" too. Coincidence? I think not. 



Can't have a Genie look without gold hoop earrings. For "shackles" that confine Genie to the lamp, I opted for gold bracelets. 




To replicated Genie's magic lamp, I opted for gold sequined shoes.  I got these at one of those big shoe stores you find in outlet malls. My sister got the same pair, but in silver. They are super comfortable and have held up surprisingly well considering I've had them around 14 years.


I've got lots of ideas for the rest of the week and am excited to show you what I come up with!

Black & White Week, Day 4

It's hot down here in lower Alabama! I went with a simple, casual look today. Although leggings are typically my preference, I opted for jean shorts. I found a lightweight t-shirt to wear. It's hard to tell from a distance, but but the shirt is black with small white polka dots all over. I think I got it at Cato a year or two ago.  This Wal-mart fabric headband is no stranger. I usually wear it when I'm washing my face, putting on my makeup, or working out. I decided to wear it today since the polka dots complement my shirt so well. I like the twist in it, which makes the design a little more fun. After yesterday's shoe discomfort, I selected my flat Crocs sandals...a somewhat modernized version of jelly shoes. DisneyBound Week, Day 5

Who says the good guys should get to have all the fun? Yesterday we went under the sea, today we're heading to the Underworld. I have to confess, I've never actually seen Disney's "Hercules" other than a couple of clips, but after going through my closet trying to find something to represent a Disney villain, I came up with a fun idea for Hades. Note to self...watch "Hercules." These Lularoe leggings were part of their Halloween collection a couple of years ago. I got them to wear to a Walker Stalker convention. The shades of blue are a spot on match for Hades' skin and hair (flaming head?) color. And of course the skulls are a nod to his toga accessory, as well as the unfortunate souls he oversees in the Underworld. I don't have a blue hat, so a gray one will have to do. Dress Week, Day 1

After taking last week off, I'm back and it's Dress week! I have a ton of cute dresses in my closet that don't get enough love. Today I'm wearing a cotton tank dress with pockets. I love the crazy colorful pattern. My aunt gave me these earrings just a few days ago because they matched what I was wearing. They work with this outfit too. I got the bracelet at the Yellowhammer Market in Ozark. Finally, my shoes are another pair of Crocs. I wear this pair all the time. Cute and comfortable. I'll be travelling tomorrow, but I'll still post my outfit of the day. See you then!
