Going Green Week, Day 5

Image
I almost forgot to post today. I stayed home doing housework and didn't shower until this afternoon, but I did manage to finally get dressed. Although, I didn't actually wear shoes today except briefly the few times I went outside and put on my flipflops. Both my shirt and leggings are Lularoe. I love these leggings and they are considered "unicorns" since they are hard to find. I wasn't actually looking for them when I got them, so I lucked out. They've got the playing card suits on them, so I call them my poker leggings. I have a red and black pair too. Russ and I getting ready to watch "Edge of Tomorrow" this evening. I made some yummy hamburgers for dinner. It'll be a nice relaxing night. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Going Green Week, Day 4

Welcome to summer! I had lunch today at Corks and Cattles. The food was really good. I tried the spinach artichoke dip and had the grilled grouper Proh-boy. Yum yum. I decided to go through my "doesn't currently fit" box of clothes and found this green dress that I haven't worn in ages. I figured I'd try it on and hope for the best. It's still a little snug, but it fits way better than it did before. Yay! This cute butterfly necklace worked really well with the outfit. I'm not sure if I got it at a craft fair or if it came in a subscription box. I've had it for a while but rarely wear it. Shoes are my interchangeable SwitchFlops. These white ones really show the dirt. I've tried to clean them without success. If anyone has tips, let me know. Until next time!

Going Green Week, Day 3

Happy hump day! Today will be another short post. Sorry I've been slacking a little this week. I'm wearing a loose green tshirt and a pair of khaki bermuda shorts today. Sandals are Teva in brown. Since I messed up my nail polish yesterday when I was doing dishes, I decided to repaint them. This is Holly-Day by China Glaze which is a dark green creme, but I topped it with Starlight Polish Unicorn which gives it some sparkle. The topper is actually color shifting depending on the light. A picture can't capture the magic. I'll be dressing up a bit more tomorrow since I have a luncheon to attend. See you then!

Going Green Week, Day 2

Today's post will be short and simple. I'm meeting up with my run group this evening, so I picked a green moisture wicking shirt and a pair of leggings. My Saucony running shoes happen to be green too. And just because I had some extra time today, I polished my nails with a holographic green polish. This color is Angel Kiss by Color Club. I may have already smudged them when I was doing dishes. Oh well. Now I'm going to sweat my booty off in this heat. We've been doing the Couch 2 5k program and I've managed about 1 day a week. Hopefully I'll get more consistent with my workouts soon.

Going Green Week, Day 1

This week is all about going green! I'm not talking about recycling though. I'll be wearing green themed outfits. Starting off is this cute forest green Agnes & Dora tunic with ruffled sleeves. I paired it with a pair of green and mustard Lularoe leggings. I'm not sure when or where I got this necklace. It's simple but stylish. I love the triple strand and the gold hoop that clips on. I have yet another pair of Clarks shoes. These platform sandals make me taller. Woohoo! I'll see you again tomorrow!

Dress Week, Day 5

Happy Friday! Today I'm wearing a dress I bought on Amazon. The brand is Acevog and is fairly inexpensive. Decent quality too. I'm not sure if you can tell in this lighting, but the dress is actually yellow, not white. I love the floral print. The material is lightweight and super soft. This is another hair clip I got when I visited Hawaii. It's just a foam material with a plastic clip attached to the flower.  These shoes are a repeat wear. I love them so much. The pink sequins are so cute, and the Crocs sandals are oh so comfy.  I hope everyone has had a good week and has a great Father's Day weekend. Don't forget to call your dads!

Dress Week, Day 4

This dress is so much fun!!!! I ordered it online from Effie's Heart. Look closely...the print is squirrels! The only thing that would make this dress better was if it had pockets. Can't win 'em all. You've seen these earring before during red, white, and blue week. The color matches the buttons on the dress perfectly. Shoes are Clarks. Same as the gray/taupe ones I have, but these are nude. I almost wore my red shoes with this outfit, but I remembered I already wore them and you haven't seen these ones yet.  That's all for today, folks!

Dress Week, Day 3

I took my sweet Bella to the groomer this morning, so you get to see a cute picture of her to start. Today's outfit isn't exactly a dress, but I'm going to count it anyway. I was mainly doing chores around the house, and I have a run meet up this evening so I'm wearing my workout clothes. I have a few of these sport skirts. I don't like wearing short shorts, and sometimes it's too hot to wear leggings, so these skirts are a good alternative. Plus they're super cute. And they have little pockets on each side of the shorts! My shoes are Saucony. When I was running a lot, I went through several pairs over the years. I tried other brands, but these work best for me and my gait. That's it for today. Tomorrow I'll be dressing up a little more since I have places to go and people to see.

Dress Week, Day 2

I was driving home from Florida today, so I wanted to dress comfortable for the 5 hour trip. This is a $10 dress I got from Dollar General. Actually, it was buy one, get one half off, so I got 2 dresses for $15. Score! And as a bonus...it has pockets. Pockets in dresses are everything! My aunt just gave me these earrings. She gets a lot of awesome jewelry from auctions. My bracelet came in some subscription box, but I couldn't tell you which one.  I'm not sure if I've shown you these shoes before. They're another pair of Crocs. They're a good basic pair of black shoes. Since I just got home today, I have a lot to catch up with laundry, cleaning, etc. Plus I have to take my shaggy dog to the groomer. I'll probably throw on a very casual dress tomorrow to run around in.

Dress Week, Day 1

After taking last week off, I'm back and it's Dress week! I have a ton of cute dresses in my closet that don't get enough love. Today I'm wearing a cotton tank dress with pockets. I love the crazy colorful pattern. My aunt gave me these earrings just a few days ago because they matched what I was wearing. They work with this outfit too. I got the bracelet at the Yellowhammer Market in Ozark. Finally, my shoes are another pair of Crocs. I wear this pair all the time. Cute and comfortable. I'll be travelling tomorrow, but I'll still post my outfit of the day. See you then!

Week Off

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I am going to take this week off from my blog. I've had so much fun doing a theme every week, and I'll be thinking of some new ideas for future outfits. I still have a ton of clothes in my closet that I haven't touched, so I'm hoping I can come up with some fun concepts. I'm trying to think outside of the box, get out of my comfort zone, and be more adventurous with my style. I hope you continue to follow me on my journey! P.S. Since I've started this blog, I haven't bought any new clothes. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but it's an accomplishment for me. I've rediscovered and reinvented old clothes. "Shopping" my own closet has been awesome!

DisneyBound Week, Day 5

Who says the good guys should get to have all the fun? Yesterday we went under the sea, today we're heading to the Underworld. I have to confess, I've never actually seen Disney's "Hercules" other than a couple of clips, but after going through my closet trying to find something to represent a Disney villain, I came up with a fun idea for Hades. Note to self...watch "Hercules." These Lularoe leggings were part of their Halloween collection a couple of years ago. I got them to wear to a Walker Stalker convention. The shades of blue are a spot on match for Hades' skin and hair (flaming head?) color. And of course the skulls are a nod to his toga accessory, as well as the unfortunate souls he oversees in the Underworld. I don't have a blue hat, so a gray one will have to do. I think I got this at Rose's a couple years ago. Speaking of the Walker Stalker convention...while we were there, I saw a vendor selling homemade jewelry. When I ...

I hope you're a good swimmer because today we're going under the sea with "The Little Mermaid." This was always one of my favorite Disney movies. I remember seeing it with my mom in the theater when it first came out. My inspiration for today is none other than the mischievous youngest daughter of King Triton...Ariel! I didn't have a seashell top lying around, so I went with a purple shirt instead. This tunic was actually pretty long, and I wasn't happy with how it looked with the pants, so I tied it up to the side. Kinda reminds me of when we'd use tshirt clips back in the 80s/90s, actually around the same time the movie was released, so I guess it works. The green stretch jeans are another pair from Sam's Club. The same Nine West style that I have in purple and posted a couple weeks ago.  My mermaid necklace was given to me by my friend Jeannette. It's super adorable and worked great for the outfit. My trident ring was one of the jew...

DisneyBound Week, Day 3

Bonjour et bienvenue! Today we step into the French countryside with a "Beauty and the Beast" inspired look. Belle, perhaps? That would've been the obvious choice, but instead I chose the dashing Lumiere! I got this yellow sleeveless tunic from Amazon very inexpensively. It's not the best quality material, but I'm not too hard on my clothes typically. I was going to just wear it as a dress because it's pretty long, but that was a little too risque for my taste. I only have one pair of yellow leggings, but they are black and yellow and didn't work well with the top, so I just put on my khaki capris. I added the white cardigan to represent the candles. For an additional touch of gold, I'm wearing a wide stretch belt. Shoes are Skechers and are super comfy! I could definitely walk around in these shoes all day at Disney. I hope you come back tomorrow to see what I have in store! Au revoir!

DisneyBound Week, Day 2

Happy Tuesday! Since yesterday's post was dedicated to my brother, I drew inspiration for today from my sister. There's no better Disney movie than "Frozen" to represent sisters! I'm the younger sister, so I went with an Anna inspired look. I was originally going to wear a pair of jeans for this outfit, but it just wasn't quite right. I went scrambling this morning to figure out what to wear instead. I don't actually have a blue skirt, so I got a bit creative. I found a long sleeve cold shoulder dress, but figured it would be too hot for today. Plus I probably won't wear my LulaRoe Lindsay cardigan all day and my black shirt is short sleeves. I took the long sleeves and tucked them inside the dress, and then used the shoulder holes for my arms. I was surprised it actually looks pretty good like this on its own.  My sister Shailia gave me this bracelet, so it was quite appropriate for this outfit. The hat is from Kohl's I think. You...
